A Chinese famille rose blue-ground teapot and cover, 19th century
of square-section form rising from a short foot to a domed and stepped cover with a round finial, with an ear-shaped handle and faceted spout with a cloud-shaped strut, decorated with panels enclosing birds, bamboo and flowering sprigs alternating with flowering boughs, framed by meandering floral scrolls on blue ground, blue four-character Qianlong mark -- 6 9/16in. (16.6cm.) high.
