A pair of Chinese famille verte rouleau vases, first half 20th century
each of slightly tapering cylindrical form, with slanted shoulders rising to the cylindrical neck with a raised band, surmounted by a galleried rim, enamelled with dignitaries, ladies and attendants in a fenced garden amidst bamboo and rockwork playing weiqi and carrying a musical instrument, the shoulders with ribboned auspicious emblems reserved on a wan trellis ground and a zigzag cross-hatched band, below the neck with an immortal standing on cloud scrolls holding a peach sprig in his mouth, the rim with a key-fret border, iron-red six-character Wanli marks -- 17 7/16in. (44.2cm.) high. (2)
