A Chinese enamelled lozenge-shaped Mukozuke, second quarter 17th century
of lozenge shape with a scalloped brown-dressed rim, enamelled at the centre in iron-red, green, aubergine, turquoise, yellow and black with Budai holding a book seated peacefully below a pine tree amidst rockwork, underglaze-blue tian guang ('heavenly brilliance') seal mark -- 7 3/16in. (18.3cm.) wide.
