A large Chinese blue and white 'kraak porselein' jar, Wanli
of ovoid form with a short waisted neck, painted with four quatrefoil shaped panels enclosing peony and other floral sprays issuing from rockwork, below the shoulder with four cartouches enclosing peach clusters and peony sprays, all conjoined by strapwork framed by ruyi-heads and reserved on a blue-wash wan patterned ground, between floral sprays and auspicious objects on the neck and a lappet border above the foot -- 13 1/8in. (33.3cm.) high.
