A Chinese blue and white stem bowl, first half 17th century
of compressed globular form rising to the short cylindrical neck, supported on a tall splayed foot, the exterior painted with precious objects including censers and vases with prunus and lotus sprays, the foot with a continuous band of crested waves, wood stand; and a blue and white double-gourd vase, painted with panels enclosing floral sprays flanked by trellis pattern, below the neck with lotus sprays and a plantain band, with a classic scroll on the foot, 19th century -- 9 1/8in. (23.1cm.) high. (2)
