A Chinese wucai enamelled jar and cover, Jiajing mark and of the period
of tapering square-section, decorated with the bajixiang ('Eight Buddhistic Emblems') amidst foliated scrolls bearing lotus blossoms, between a ruyi-head border on the shoulders and neck and lotus petal panels above the foot, the stepped square-sectioned cover surmounted by a bud finial and decorated with a ruyi-head band and detached scrolls, underglaze blue six-character Jiajing mark -- 9in. (22.8cm.) high.
