A Chinese blue and white double-gourd vase, 19th century
painted on the lower globular gourd with a pair of confronting dragons flanking a peony sprig, between a band of plum blossom on the shoulders and peony and lotus blossoms reserved on a trellis ground above the foot, the upper gourd with a writhing dragon and a peony spray, with bats and key-fret borders below the rim -- 17¾in. (45.1cm.) high.
