A smaller unsigned version of this bronze group is illustrated in C.Payne Animals in Bronze, Woodbridge, 1988, page 307, H92, where it is compared with a group after Marazzani, circa 1880 (see page 306, fig. H89).
The foundry, Siot-Decauville, flourished between 1860 to 1920. Edmond Siot-Decauville directed the foundry and exhibited works in his salon and his foundry.
