On a naturalistic base inscribed BAYRE 1838 and stamped BARYE to the reverse

Lot Essay

Dating from 1838, this model was subsequently used as the stag in Bayre's group entitle Famille de Cerf. It was first offered in Besse's catalouge of 1844.
