Lot Essay

Vidal typically signed his work with 'Vidal aveugle'. His first experience of Salon exhibiting was at the 1855 Exposition Universalle, after which he showed regularly from 1859 to 1882. This model was first shown in plaster (1861) and then bronze at the Exposition of 1867.
