The Sultan Beyazit II Mosque Complex with a View of the Golden Horn beyond, Constantinople

Located outside the Beyazit campus entrance of Istanbul University, Beyazit Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in the city and the oldest surviving imperial mosque. The Mosque was built between 1501 and 1506 using materials taken from Theodosius's Forum of Tauri, on top of which it was constructed.

Fatih Mosque, originally built in 1463-70 by Mehmet II, was almost entirely destroyed during an earthquake in 1766 and was rebuilt by Mustafa III in 1767-71.
