Lot Essay

Fernand Cian or Ciancianaini, born at Carrara in the late 19th century, he came to Paris and studied under Laporte-Blairsy (1867-1923) and exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Françaises from 1911 to 1928. He produced busts and statuettes of contemporary and historical figures.
Possibly the two busts are portraits of children of Louis XVI.
