MARK OF HESTER BATEMAN, LONDON, 1786,
Shaped oval with domed cover, interior with central divider, lacks key, urn finial, engraved with scrolls & flowers between two bright-engraved bands, navette cartouche to either side, armorial to front, crest to back, fully marked to base, maker's mark & lion passant to cover, 5¾ in. long (14.6 cm.), 13.25 oz.
