Of rectangular form, the arched crest inset with a central oval medallion depicting a king playing a harp, the frame etched with cherubs, foliage and strapwork, a paper label inscribed in black type 'C.U.' and in pencil 'K 4', replacements and restorations to engraved plates

Lot Essay

A closely related mirror, attributed to Denmark, and woth similar narrow Bérainesque strapwork panels to the sides, central cartouche to the cresting and lead borders to each panel, is illustrated in G. Child, World Mirrors, London, 1990, p. 297, fig. 675.
