Of rectangular form with rounded corners and inset gilt-tooled leather writing surface, with three frieze drawers and other faux drawer fronts, above female-headed terms framing doors on the front and back sides of the desk each end of the desk also with terms

Lot Essay

This desk is inspired by Thomas Chippendale the Younger's Library table, delivered to Stourhead in Wiltshire in January of 1805, Illustrated in 'Thomas Chippendale The Younger At Stourhead' by Judith Goodison in Furniture History, The Journal of The Furniture History Society, London, 2005, Volume XLI, fig. 35.
