A German silver small tureen
Mark of Philip Jacob von Holte, Hamburg, circa 1775
Oval and on four openwork beaded shell and scroll feet, the bombé body with detachable domed cover with urn finial, with two beaded ring bracket handles, the body and cover chased with ribbon-tied floral garlands, the body with two vacant cartouches, the base prick engraved with the intials 'J.G.M.' and the date 1789, marked on base, below Dutch legal silver standard
