NEWTON & Co. 3 Fleet Street, late 19th-Century
the globe made-up of twelve engraved hand-coloured gores and two polar calottes, depicting geographical information, the equator and ecliptic graduated, the prime meridian through London, showing the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, the Arctic and Antartic Circles, and Captain Cook's voyages, with an 'Improved Analemma', with graduated brass meridian ring, the applied paper horizon graduated in months of the year and with corresponding zodiac signs and compass points, supported atop three ebonised turned legs and stretchers
