Painted to the centre with the arms of Holland, on a ground of birds, butterflies and flowers, within a moulded floriform border with panels of figures in gardens alternating with jardinières and vases of flowers, on a diaper pattern ground, the reverse with two sketchily-drawn floral sprays, rim frittings and chips

At least four related series of these dishes were ordered in the 1720's in China, and approximately twenty-three different arms are known, including those of Holland, England, France, Luxembourg, and of numerous Dutch and Flemish provinces and cities. Judging by the spelling of many of these dishes, it would appear they were all made to Dutch order.
