AN EGYPTIAN BLACK STEATITE CIPPUS OF HORUS
LATE PERIOD/PTOLEMAIC, CIRCA 4TH-1ST CENTURY B.C.
Modelled with figure of Harpocrates standing on two crocodiles, grasping an antelope and scorpion in each hand, a kherep-sceptre and wadj-sceptre on either side, with protective inscription on front, back and base, 1½ in. (3.8 cm.) high; another grey steatite amuletic plaque, inscribed with four columns of hieroglyphs, 1½ in. (3.8 cm.) high; a bronze bell or cover, with four animal head protomes of a lion, ram, baboon and jackal, 1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) high; a bronze figure of a kneeling priest; a bronze uraeus, traces of red paste inlay, 4th-1st Century B.C., both 1 7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) high; and a gesso-painted stucco female mask, with elongated eye-line, her blue painted headdress decorated with gilded studs and winged vulture, details in red, mounted, early 1st millennium B.C., 4½ in.
