A LURISTAN BRONZE WHETSTONE
EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.
The honing stone with bronze socket in the form of a recumbent ibex, an attachment loop beneath its hind legs, 4½ in. (11.4 cm.) long; and a group of six further bronzes comprising two pins with double spiral heads, 7½ in. (19 cm.) long max; two Master-of-Animals finials, 8¼ in. (21 cm.) long max; an animal-headed pin, 9½ in. (24 cm.) long; and a recumbent horse-like animal finial, 2¾ in. (7 cm.) long, all various periods (7)

Acquired on the London art market in the early 1990s.
