AN ATTIC BLACK GLAZED POTTERY LEKYTHOS

The body decorated with moulded ribs, funnel-shaped mouth and single handle, underside of foot with black painted dotted circle, 5 in. (12.7 cm.) high; two Roman bronze lion head handles, each with a radiating mane, details incised, the separately cast ring inserted into the open mouth, pierced for attachment with some pins remaining, mounted, circa 3rd Century A.D., 4¾ in. (12 cm.) diam max.; and a Celto-Iberian bronze belt attachment, composed of two plaques with clasp and catch-plate, each overlaid with silvered decoration of concentric circles, some attachment rivets remaining, 1st Century B.C., 4 in.
