Side A: a seated youth within an Ionic naiskos holding a fan in his left hand, with head turned looking back to the right, shoulder with a female profile head wearing beaded necklaces, earring, radiate stephane and embroidered sakkos, with elaborate wings either side, framed with band of dotted ovolo above and below
Side B: a female head in profile to the left, wearing beaded necklaces, radiate stephane and embroidered sakkos, shoulder with band of vertical lines framed with band of scrolling S and wave pattern
Palmettes below the handles and on the neck, band of meander below the scenes, band of laurel below the rim, details in added white

Acquired on the London art market in the early 1990s by the present owner's late father.
