A HELLENISTIC TERRACOTTA INCENSE STAND
CANOSAN, CIRCA 3RD CENTURY B.C.
In the form of a woman's head, on integral square base, wearing large tear-shaped earrings and thick fillet with ivy leaves and berry clusters, surmounted by an open flower with curling leaves below, one remaining, remains of pink and blue pigment; and a polychrome painted terracotta head 'vase' in the form of a female head wearing diadem with applied discs, hair behind held in a sakkos painted with a net pattern, with pointed leaves either side of neck, surmounted by a draped female figure, a strap handle emerging from her back
