Lot Essay

Accompanied by the original Rolex cardboard slipcase, fitted green presentation box, Garantie, the bill of sale dated January 20th, 1964 and green leather document wallet.

The reference 6236 was the final version of the celebrated "Dato-Compax" model. In production between 1958 and 1962, it is easily identifiable by the larger bezel compared to its predecessors. In fact, the case of the reference 6236 is made of three elements, the bezel no longer carved from the same block as the centerpiece of the case.

This model is described and illustrated in I Cronografi Rolex - La Leggenda, Pucci Papaleo Editore, pp. 402 - 409.
