With nickel-finished lever movement, 37 jewels, charcoal engine-turned dial with black chapter ring with luminescent Arabic numerals, luminescent hands, aperture for date between 4 and 5 o'clock, three subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds, 30 minute and 12 hour registers, with red "Alinghi" logo to the 12 hour register, large tonneau water-resistant-type case with octagonal screw-set bezel, screw-down crown and pushers, the back secured by eight screws with engraved scene depicting two racing sailboats, case, dial and movement signed, with stainless steel Audemars Piguet deployant clasp

Lot Essay

The "Royal Oak City of Sails" wristwatch was made as a limited editon series to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the "Royal Oak" line as well as to pay tribute to the Swiss "Alinghi" team, the official winners of the America's Cup in 2003.
