Second (and best) edition of this mathematical work, revised, expanded and completed by the author's son Thomas Digges (d. 1595). The first edition was published in 1571. The work is completed by the first appearance of Thomas Digges' work on ballistics: "He was able, on the basis of his own and his father's experiments, to disprove many commonly held erroneous ideas in ballistics but was not able to develop a mathematical theory of his own.
