One of the middle band of cartouches is inscribed with the name of the owner, 'the master Khusraw naqqal' (the narrator or speaker), while the other four contain a poem in praise of 'Ali. It can be translated "Call upon 'Ali, creator of miracles, you will find him of help in adversity, every care and grief will be dispelled through your guardianship, O 'Ali, O 'Ali, O 'Ali". The central roundel is inscribed 'His servant, Muhammad Reza', while the outer border contains invocations to the twelve Imams.
