The naturalistically modelled head with openwork scrolls with foliate terminals around the neck, the rein and bridle engraved with a series of circles with a prominent roundel on the forehead containing a strapwork motif, the ears pricked, the openwork nostrils flared and the mouth open, with applied loop at the base of the neck, negligible rubbing, rich patination
