Lot Essay

Braj Bhasha is the literary dialect of Hindi which was the principal vehicle for much of the literature of a large tract of Northern India between the 16th and 19th centuries. This is a narrative text which tells the story of Vinod, a prince born in exile. The text is mostly composed in couplets (dohra/doha and its inverted variant sortha), and quatrains (caupai).
