Mr. Schillemans of the Museum Amstelkring 'Onze Lieve Heer op Zolder', Amsterdam has kindly pointed out that this is a preliminary study for the altar piece in the old catholic church in Delft dated 1746. The buyer of the present lot is requested to give this drawing on loan for the exhibition 'Putti en Cherubijntjes, Het religieuze werk van Jacob de Wit' to be held at the Museum Amstelkring 'Onze Lieve Heer op Zolder', Amsterdam, to be held from 15 December 1995 to 17 March 1996
