Lot Essay

En suite with a watercolour inscribed 'De Lindt te zien agter van Meerdervoort' of similar size, technique and subject, also signed with monogram and dated 1742, in the Rijksprentenkabinet, Amsterdam (L.J. Bol, Herdenkingstentoonstelling Aert Schouman, Dordrecht, 1960, exhibition catalogue, p. 43, fig. 16). The village Groote Lindt was situated at the Oude Maas West of Zwijndrecht, and is now part of that town. Meerdervoort was a village in the Zwijndrechtsewaard, West of Dordrecht.
