A SILVER AND GOLD PARCEL EWER, INDIA, 17TH CENTURY AND LATER
On a rounded foot with globular body, slender waist rising to a flaring rim with angled handle joined at body and rim, the lid hinged, dome shaped and with a pointed finial, decorated to body with vertical bands of parcel gilt and silver lotus flowers divided by narrow plain silver bands, the neck and lid decorated in dense floral parcel gilt, finial gilt, band of similar around foot, the interior gilt, the base added later with English silver marks - 17in. (43.1cm.) high
