Persian manuscript on paper, 32ff. with 7ll. of fine black nasta'liq, minor titles in red, illuminated heading and opening bifolium with text within gold clouds, final folio with colophon signed by the scribe Ghulam Reza and dated Safar 1293, red morocco binding- 8¼ x 5in. (21 x 12.5cm.)

Lot Essay

Ghulam Reza Isfahani (d. AH 1304/1886 or 7 AD) was a well-known calligrapher. He was employed by Muhammad Shah as a teacher to the princes. His recorded works include letters, inscriptions on the Sepahsalar Madrasa in Tehran, manuscripts and calligraphies.
