TWO MANUSCRIPTS OF THE DIWAN OF HAFEZ AND A KULLIYAT OF SA'DI, KASHMIR, NORTH INDIA, 19TH CENTURY
Persian manuscript on paper, each manuscript written in black nasta'liq, one of the Diwan within gold clouds and highlighted with illuminated margins of floral meander, 16.3 x 10.5 cm.- the other similar with miniatures in gouache and gold, misbound and incomplete-18.7 x 11.3 cm.- each with lacquer binding, the Kulliyat with gold and blue illluminated headings and illuminated triangular corner pieces and highlighted with bands of floral meander, deficient at end-23 x 13.5 cm.
