Lot Essay

Sir John, a Master of the Worshipful Company was one of only three pewterers to become Lord Mayor of London. See The Journal of the Pewter Society, Autumn 1995 for a discussion. Only four pieces made by Sir John Fryer are recorded by David Moulson.
