woodcut in green, dark blue, ochre and black, 1918, on laid paper watermark PANNEKOEK, a fine, early impression of Dube's second state (of three), the inks thinly applied to the blocks with the brush and printed to a very lively and transparent effect, signed in pencil, dated '19' (the signature contemporary with the printing and dating of the print), a proof impression printed by the artist, before the later edition of unknown size printed by Voigt and published by J.B. Neumann, Berlin, with full? margins (deckle edges above and below), pale light-staining, scatterd foxing in the margins, other minor defects in the margins and along the sheet edges, otherwise generally in good, original condition
