Lot Essay

Isselbacher Gallery purchased this set directly from Madame Tériade. It was described then as a printer's proof set, comprised of the prints only, and was never accompanied by the supplementary materials. Plate 3 M. Loyal appears with the facsimilie text (found in the final editions) printed on the left half-sheet. The other four half-sheets are blank, before the text was added. This set apparently was a working copy used by the publisher.
