PROPERTY FROM THE KIYOSATO MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART The Kiyosato Museum of Contemporary Art was opened in 1989 with the specific purpose of exhibiting about 180 works from the private collection of Mr. Shingo Ito, a local junior high school teacher in Tokyo. More than 30 years ago, Shingo began collecting Contemporary art, mainly from the 1960s onwards, and centering around Beuys [see lots 509-21] and the Fluxus artists. The museum also has an impressive library and archive which also features rare audio and visual recordings.

multiple, 1971, comprised of a car door from Datsun, a mirrored window, green automotive lacquer, polyester resin, screenprint, florescent light and galvanized sheet metal, signed in green ink and numbered 29 on the label mounted on the side of the door, numbered 29 again in the screenprinting on the window (the edition was 50 plus two artist's copies) each with unique screenprinted numbering, published by Gemini G.E.L., Los Angeles, the resin darkened (typical for this edition), minor scratches and chips primarily in the black on the back and sides, otherwise generally in good condition
overall: 39½ x 36 x 7 in. (1003 x 914 x 178 mm.)
