Lot Essay

From an album of botanical drawings, probably compiled by an early collector such as Cassiano dal Pozzo. Similar drawings are in the Royal Library, likewise, previously in the collection of the Accademia dei Lincei (Il Museo Cartaceo di Cassiano dal Pozzo, Olivetti, 1989, pls. 36, 38 and 44).
