The rounded rectangular Rouge de Maine marble top above a pair of doors enclosing a fitted interior with two short drawers and a shelf, on foliate-cast sabots, stamped 'JME', and 'J.M. SCHILLER'

Lot Essay

Jean-Martin Schüler, dit Schiler (1753-1812), maître in 1781.
The characteristics of Schiler's production, which consists mainly in Louis XVI furniture, are the clean and well-proportioned lines of his pieces. Schiler is also known for his mechanical pieces, such as his games-tables and tables á la Tronchin.
