"Perhaps it was the morning 'flight' of 21 Yquems that made the opening wine at lunch appear more than usually acidic and austere. Not so: it was its immaturity. Palish, green-tinged, very bright--it actually looked youthfully mouthwatering; nose surprisingly minty, oaky, good but only on the fringes of harmony; medium, fairly full-bodied though on the lean side, raw pasty, pineappley acidity.
