A GEORGE III IRISH SILVER SWING-HANDLED CAKE BASKET
APPARENTLY WITH HIBERNIA & CROWNED HARP ONLY, DUBLIN, CIRCA 1770
Oval with pierced border below fruit, shells & leafy rococo scroll mount, the swing handle with mask, scrolls, flowers, wheat stalk & acanthus leaves , terminating in cast Mandarin caryatids, lightly inscribed with Victorian monogram & date to one of the interior sides, base inscribed with scratch-weight "39 oz. 15 dw.", 13½ in. long (34.5 cm.), 37.5 oz.
