lithograph in colors, 1896, on wove paper, Wittrock's third (final) state, printed by Bourgerie et Cie., the full sheet (printed to three sides), the sheet slightly toned, with a central horizontal fold, a 17-in. restored vertical split extending down from the upper edge, other repaired splits and paper losses (mainly at the upper right margin edge and areas in and surrounding the lower text), otherwise in good condition, laid down to canvas, framed

Lot Essay

Commissioned by La Plume (Léon Deschamps) as a poster for an international exhibition of posters at the Salon des Cent. The artist's model was a woman he found interesting while on a boat trip that same year.
