Cal. 727 nickel-finished lever movement, 17 jewels, the black matte dial with applied baton numerals with luminous accents, luminous hands, three subsidiary silvered engine-turned dials indicating constant seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours registers, the tonneau-shaped water-resistant-type case with blank bezel calibrated for 200 units per hour, screw back, screw down crown, two screw down chronograph buttons in the band, stainless steel Rolex Jubilee bracelet, case, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

The present watch is a rare version of the first generation "Oyster Cosmograph" reference 6265 model, introduced in 1971. This much sought after collectors watch is lacking any mention of "Daytona", it has a superb shine and brown-grey tone to the dial and comes even with the correct US-made Oyster bracelet, also stamped 10/73, suggesting it was made in October of 1973.
