Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial and applied gold Breguet numerals in 1928 and its subsequent sale on 4 April 1929.

This watch has never been offered in public before. Cased in silver instead of the more common gold or platinum and featuring the much sought after Breguet numerals, all confirmed by the Extract, it is extremely rare.

Other examples of such early rectangular wristwatches are illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 113.
