Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial and applied steel hour markers in 1948 and its subsequent sale on 5 July 1948.

Reference 565 was available with either subsidiary or sweep centre seconds: the first with calibre 12'''120, such as the present watch, was launched in 1938. Production of the second series featuring a calibre 12 SC movement started in 1942.

The present watch, recently overhauled by the workshops of Patek Philippe in Geneva, is a beautiful example of this model combining a stainless steel case, a beautifully aged silvered dial and a very attractive overall condition.
