With gilt-finished cylinder movement, gold cuvette, the engine-turned silvered dial with aperture for the jumping Arabic hours, eccentric silvered chapter ring for the Arabic minutes, single gilt moon-style hand, subsidiary seconds, in circular case with finely chased and engraved floral and foliage decoration in high relief, the cover engraved with the map of Spain, the back with a detailed street map of Madrid, both overlaid with translucent scarlet enamel, case numbered, cuvette signed and numbered

Charles Friderich was active in Geneva in the first half of the 19th century and specialized in the manufacture of fine watches in the style of Breguet, mostly for the Spanish and Turkish markets.
