With full plate gilt-finished movement, pierced and engraved balance cock, gold cuvette, the dial with Arabic numerals on outer white enamel chapter ring, blued steel moon-style hands, centred by an applied vari-coloured gold neoclassical landscape and automaton scene depicting punch fighting chronos appearing to the upper part in unison with the hour repeating, two cherubs below apparently striking the quarter hours in unison with the repeating, in circular engine-turned case with ribbed band, repeating through the pendant, pending locking lever in the band, cuvette and movement signed

François L'hardy, also known as Lardy or Lhardy, was a Geneva based watchmaker active at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century. He specialized in automaton, repeating and skeletonized watches.
