Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1944 and its subsequent sale on 15 September 1944.

This watch is thought to be the only example of a reference 570 in yellow gold with indirect sweep centre seconds and Breguet numerals to have appeared in public to date.

The large Calatrava model reference 570 was introduced into the market in 1938. It was available with subsidiary or sweep centre seconds.

The sweep centre seconds version was produced in two series: the first fitted with a 12 SC movement was in production until 1950, the second with calibre 27 SC, such as the present watch, from 1950 until 1970.
