A PAIR OF REGENCY SIMULATED ROSEWOOD CANED ARMCHAIRS
EARLY 19TH CENTURY
Each with curved tablet toprail with incised pattern above a caned back and horizontal baluster, the outcurved arms ending in fluted patera terminals above a caned seat with button squab covered in yellow material with palm-curved naturalistic front legs and arm supports headed by scrolls and terminating in paw feet, the underside of the rails with nailing possibly for a dustcover, redecorated with traces of an earlier layer of decoration, one chair with later back seatrail, the other chair with restorations to seatrails (2)
